True or False? Tenured faculty members have a job for life because they cannot be terminated.
False. Art.16 outlines disciplinary procedures that can include termination, as well as reprimand or suspension, even of full-time tenured faculty members. If there is clear and convincing proof that a faculty member is unfit to discharge his or her professional responsibilities, the result could be termination. However, Art. 16 also provides a procedure by which the faculty member is afforded due process and the right to a fair hearing if such an accusation is made.
